Tis the season to list what your grateful for!
I love this time of year from Thanksgiving to New Years! It's all about time with family and serving one another. What gets better than that?
This year in particular I have SO many things to be grateful for!
I'm grateful for Tyler coming back in to my life at the start of this year. It was so much fun to have my best friend come home from his mission, and then unexpectedly fall madly in love with him. He has been such a blessing in my life since the day we met a little over 3 years ago. I'm thankful for all the time we spent getting to know each other before his mission, all the letters and emails while he was gone, and I'm thankful he pushed aside his post mission awkwardness quickly enough to ask me on a date the day after he got home! I'm thankful that 7 months later he asked me to be his wife. I am forever thankful that on September 24 I was married and sealed for all eternity to most awesomely rad guy I've ever met =)
I'm thankful for the years I've been able to live here in Utah. Although I miss my mom, dad, and brother terribly I have been so blessed to spend so much time with my extended family. My aunts are my like the sisters I never got to have. My uncles are the best men I know; I can rely on them for their priesthood, wisdom, and guidance. All my sweet little cousins are just the loves of my life! Being closer to my Grandma Garrett is such a blessing. She is the MOST amazing woman who has ever been on this planet. I want to be just like her. It is no wonder that my Grandpa fell so in love with her- she is pretty incredible!! The time I was able to spend Grandpa Garrett, who passed away early this year, has been another great blessing to be thankful for. I was thankful to be there with my aunts and my grandma as he slipped away to heaven. What a testimony builder that was to me. I miss him every day, but I am so thankful to be his granddaughter. Tyler can attest to the fact that it seems no matter what ward we are in the chorister loves to make us sing I Stand All Amazed at least every other sunday, and every time I cry. For a long time it annoyed me, but I'm actually very thankful for constantly being reminded of the sweet moment I got to spend with my aunts and grandma singing that beautiful hymn to my grandpa before he died. I am thankful for the precious gift I was given on my wedding day to know that Grandpa (and other family members passed on) was there with me. I felt him there, knowing he was so proud and that he approved of my husband. It meant the world to me that he could meet Tyler in that month before he left us.
I am sooooo thankful that my Mom, Dad, and Brother could be here on my wedding day. I am so blessed to be born in the family that I was. I love them all so much! I'm thankful for a Mother I can call my best friend. There is nothing I can't talk to her about. I'm thankful for a Father who can always make me laugh. He is the funniest person I know! I'm also thankful he is an honorable priesthood holder. I'm thankful for a genius for a brother! Anything I need to know or understand, I can ask Jason. Plus, just like my dad, Jason is absolutely hysterical!
I'm so blessed to have the most amazing in-laws who are so welcoming! I love them all so much and I'm so thankful for them and all they do for me!
I'm thankful my Savior. I'm thankful for his sacrifice for me. What a blessing it is know that I have a Savior and a Heavenly Father who love and watch over for me. I thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for the scriptures and for prayer.
I hope everyone had a safe and yummy Thanksgiving! Love you all!
